Project Engineer


The role of the Project Engineer is assisting the Sr. Project Manager, Project Manager and Superintendent to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes assisting in coordinating the necessary resources and efforts of BOC team members, subcontractors and consultants in order to deliver multiple concurrent projects without exceeding budgeted amounts and on or whenever possible ahead of schedule.

The Project Engineer will experience a variety of project types and sizes and will work very closely with Sr. PM/PM/Superintendent in a mentoring environment to become a self-sufficient and highly effective member of our construction team as quickly as possible.


Follows the “Team Approach”, fulfills all PM responsibilities described therein, and holds other team members accountable for their contribution in a professional and positive manner
Assist Sr. PM/PM with various tasks, including but not limited to:
Maintain complete and accurate plans and specifications in the project files, Procore and other IT platforms as necessary.
Processing of submittals, shop drawings, material samples, etc…
RFI drafting, submittal to respondent, receiving a response and posting to progress plans.
Assist in development of critical path based schedules for each project and utilize for monitoring on-going progress across the various scopes of work
Attend regular OAC (Owner/Architect/Contractor) update meetings and support Sr. PM/PM as needed.
Review and understand subcontractor monthly progress billings as they relate to work completed to date
Assist Superintendents on jobsites with various tasks, including but not limited to:
Work with superintendent and subcontractors to identify discrepancies/potential conflicts in the plans/specs and drafting RFI’s to clarify discrepancies prior to cost/schedule impact
Monitoring safety compliance of subcontractors, suppliers, and other personnel on jobsite
Coordinate regular jobsite subcontractor meetings; notify all to ensure all required parties attend.
Lead punch list development and remediation, as-built plans and OM&W materials (Operations Manuals/Warranty info) collection and assembly of entire project for submission to Owner at closeout.

Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year College or University in Engineering, Construction Management or other applicable field. Relevant work experience in the construction industry is preferred, yet not a strict pre-requisite, as this position is recognized as entry level in nature for some candidates. Ongoing continuing education is strongly encouraged and financially supported by BOC, as deemed appropriate for both employee development and BOC success.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be very computer literate and fully capable working with the following programs:

Word and Excel software
Procore and Microsoft Project or equivalent scheduling software
Other programs as needed
