Senior Development Project Manager Position

The Project Manager of Development Services will report to the Senior Vice President of Development Services. The position is responsible for leading and directing all aspects of the real estate development process for industrial and commercial ventures.

The BO team manages a diverse portfolio in accordance with various entity agreements and ownership investment and development objectives. This position requires excellent leadership ability and a customer-centered management approach. Additional job qualifications include strong organization skills, experience with varied real estate development entitlement issues, specific familiarity with structuring joint ventures, CEQA, financial analysis of investment opportunities and public financing vehicles.


  • Candidate will develop, foster, and maintain productive relationship between BO Asset Managers, Real Estate Agents, Partners, Development Project Managers and Construction Project Managers.
  • Manage Development Project Manager team
  • Procure, negotiate and manage various design and engineering consultant relationships and agreements.
  • Develop and maintain development budgets and financial analysis for industrial and commercial ventures.
  • Develop and manage joint venture and partnership structures for the purpose of developing new real estate ventures.
  • Concurrently process multiple projects through the entitlement process in various municipalities.
  • Prior experience in managing commercial real estate development projects and ventures.
  • Leadership experience in negotiating the CEQA / NEPA process, subdivision map act, DA and environmental agency process and approval.
  • An understanding of commercial and industrial building and site improvement costs.
  • Experience with title, vesting rights and public infrastructure financing vehicles.
  • Strong leadership experience negotiating and structuring equity and debt investment structures.
  • Strong analytic and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office including Excel and Word.
  • Excellent written and oral communicator.
  • Negotiation and work out experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in Real Estate Development ; and five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
